In the fast-evolving world of journalism, news outlets are focusing more resources online than ever, and journalists are expected to have some basic multimedia skills. For young journalists, those skills can help you get a foot in the door. But are you still unsure about how to approach multimedia? Do you want to know more about how newsrooms use multimedia on a daily basis? A panel of leading multimedia journalists will talk you through the multimedia landscape. MSNBC senior multimedia producer Meredith Birkett, Seattle Times video editor Danny Gawlowski, and AP minority affairs reporter Manuel Valdes will be on hand to share how they get their newsrooms to think about multimedia to enhance stories, talk about what types of multimedia work best from breaking news to enterprise packages, and to offer some resources to help enhance your own multimedia portfolio.
